Proslimelt of UltraShape ?


Een gedetailleerde vergelijking tussen Proslimelt en UltraShape is op dit moment nog niet mogelijk, omdat er op dit moment te weinig gepubliceerd wetenschappelijk onderzoek over Proslimelt beschikbaar is. Er zijn slechts enkele pseudo wetenschappelijke publicaties van dokters en uitvinders Cammarota, Fujimoto en Eisen,de ontwikkelaars en gebruikers (=producenten) van de apparatuur. Een samenvatting van deze publicaties vindt U hieronder. Deze onderzoeken zijn NIET in wetenschappelijke vakbladen gepubliceerd, zijn niet "peer to peer" reviewed en zijn dus niet onafhankelijk wetenschappelijk geevalueerd. Clinical evaluation of the effect of low frequency ultra sonic waves on localised fat. A new approach in body contouring and fat reduction.

Summary

 

ProslimeltWhen it comes to reducing volume of adipose tissue and improving shape, besides a proper diet combined to appropriate regular exercise the approach has been so far the use of surgery involving obviously relatively invasive procedures. Patients nowadays are more and more informed and a greater number of them are looking at the availability of efficient non invasive procedures capable to deliver results with comfort and no down time. The following is the summary of our clinical evaluation of a non invasive treatment using Low frequency Ultra sounds to improve contour and silhouette by reducing circumference and volume of areas with localised fat. The simplicity and time efficiency of the procedure added to its non invasive nature makes it very attractive to those patients in need of reshaping their silhouette and who are not ready for or simply do not desire the use of an invasive procedure.

Material and method

 

The apparatus used – Proslimmelt- emits low frequency ultrasound waves ranging from 30 khz to 70 khz through a transducer of 45 mm diameter at a power of 5 watts / cm2 with an emission time capacity ranging from 3” to 30”. In order for the transducer to transfer the ultra sound waves a conductive gel must be used. The Proslimmelt is equipped with 2 alike transducers allowing the treatment of 2 areas at the same time but we actually used only one transducer and treated one area at a time. The objective of our work was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of such a non invasive apparatus and test a new method to improve the shape of treated areas by reducing the volume of the localised fat. Indeed it is the adipose tissue which here is our target in which the low frequency ultrasound waves due to their nature end up creating a cavitation phenomenon. The adipocyte membrane permeability is increased during the process leading to the liberation within the interstitial liquid of the stored Triglycerides. The Triglycerides are then metabolized in Free Fatty Acid (FFA) and Glycerol (hydrosoluble molecule). The FFA link themselves to albumin molecules and are transported to the liver.

 Subjects

 

Healthy volunteers between 22 and 58 years old (mean value = 38,4years old) all females, participated in the study. They were not required to change their lifestyle and all consented to the protocol. The Proslimelt was tested on a patient population of n = 20. For this study the patient population was divided according to the treated area.

Each procedure was provided according to a defined protocol and each target area was treated according to its size for a minimum of 15 minutes per session and up to 45 minutes. The evaluation period lasted 8 consecutive weeks at the frequency of 1 session a week for a mean total of 6,5 sessions:

Measurements

Objective and subjective evaluations were utilised.

Objective

Prior to the start of the treatment program each subject’s age, height and weight were recorded along with a perimetric measurement of the area to be treated and photos of the subject. The perimetric measurements and photos were taken using a standardized procedure.

o Marking the height from the floor up to the area of concern

o Measuring just below the marking making sure the measuring tape is parallel to floor.

- Photos: with the subject standing up feet apart at always same distance.

Subjective.

 

o self evaluating questionnaires with a scale from 0 to 5 were used addressing the skin compacted ness, volume appearance, treatment comfort, treatment satisfaction.

Outcome measurements

 

Tests and measurements were realised prior to start of treatment program, at mid program and at end of program.

Objective evaluation charts show values Before and After end of treatment program.

Subjective evaluations were performed at Day 0 and at end of treatment.

I have now been working in the field of anti-aging for the last 10 years and have been repeatedly asked for help by my patients in eliminating fatty areas of their bodies and in improving their figures. The classical treatment to remove fat deposits, liposuction, is often a good method to deal with these figure problems. Unfortunately, this procedure must be performed under anesthesia and involves incisions, pain and possible side effects.

I was really surprised when I heard about an innovative method for the first time which utilizes a special ultrasound device to “melt away” fat deposits, and this without causing pain or the need for a surgical procedure. I first thought that “this couldn’t be possible.” But as unbelievable as it initially sounded, the method really does work and dos so in an outstanding way. The underlying physical principles of this technology have been known for a long time, but the technical preconditions for successful routine use have only recently been provided by an innovative ultrasound device (ProSlimelt). The technology utilizes special low frequency ultrasonic shock waves to produce so-called acoustic cavitation effects to cause fat cells in the subcutaneous fat tissues of the problem areas to implode and thus destroys them. The imploded fat cells and the remaining fat residues are dissolved by the body’s own natural mechanisms, then transported away by the lymph system and are finally excreted.

Fat deposits cannot form again where there are no fat cells!

This new ultrasonic technology simply melts away the fat deposits and does so without pain, bleeding, the risk of infection or other risks. The treatment of a problem area such as the abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs etc. only takes 1 hour, and immediately thereafter, a clear reduction in the body part circumference of a few centimeters can be seen. This positive effect becomes even more noticeable in the days following the treatment as the destroyed fat cells are gradually dissolved. Several treatments at weekly intervals are required to eliminate larger fat deposits. The variable adjustment settings of the ultrasonic device enable individual adjustment of the unit to adapt it to the tissue structure of each patient and to thus eliminate the risk of the formation of dents in the tissue. A positive side effect is that the treatment does produce a change in the skin structure and can thus help patients to relieve their cellulitis. As with conventional liposuction, the ultrasonic method also has only limited effectivity in treating extreme obesity. The primary application field for this new technology is body contouring through the reduction of fat deposits in the problem zones.

The desired treatment zone is coated with ultrasound gel, and the transducer is moved slowly over the skin without causing pain. No massaging is done with the ProSlimelt device – neither the skin surface nor the subcutaneous fatty tissues are pulled or rolled, and the skin is not subjected to suction. The patient can stand up directly after the treatment and proceed with his/her normal activities. Of course, it makes sense to reexamine one’s own eating habits and, if necessary, to optimize them so that fat deposits do not reoccur at other parts of the body. In summary, I can say that is it is extremely astonishing, even for a specialist, to see how effectively and simply this innovative technology produces the desired results.
